3 Terms and definitions
For the purposes of this standard, the following terms and definitions apply.
3.1
file specimen
some test materials which are stored under stable conditions and used for comparing the performance changes before and after exposure
3.2
control
material with similar composition and structure to the test material, which are used for performance comparison after simultaneous exposure with the test material
3.3
control specimen
part of the control material used for exposure
3.4
irradiance
radiant energy of the wavelength or band-pass irradiated per unit area per unit time, in W/m2
3.5
radiant exposure
time integration of irradiance, in J/m2
3.6
spectral power distribution
absolute or relative radiation energy emitted by a light source or received by an object, which is a function of wavelength
3.7
black panel thermometer
temperature measuring device that consists of a metal base plate and a thermal sensitive element, the latter being closely attached to the center of the former. The light receiving surface of the whole device is coated with a black coating, which can uniformly absorb all-sunlight spectral radiation
3.8
fluorescent ultraviolet lamp
low-pressure mercury arc lamp, with its radiation emitted by the mercury arc converted into longer wavelength ultraviolet radiation by the phosphorus coating and its spectral power distribution depending on the emission spectrum of the mercury arc, the emission spectrum of the phosphorus coating as well as the ultraviolet radiation transmittance of the glass tube
