This document replaces GB/T 24498-2009 Gaskets for doors, windows and curtain walls of buildings. In addition to structural adjustments and editorial changes, the following main technical changes have been made with respect to GB/T 24498-2009:

1 Scope
This document specifies the classification, code and designation, technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules, and marking, packaging, transport and storage of gaskets for doors, windows and curtain walls of buildings.
This document is applicable to the design, production and inspection of gaskets for doors, windows and curtain walls of buildings.

gaskets
sealing components serving a sealing function, installed in the opening or fixed parts of the doors, windows and curtain walls

free height
maximum dimension of the external contour of the gasket along the sealing direction in its free state under standard test conditions
3.3
deflection recovery
ability of the gasket to recover its free height after being compressed along the sealing direction
3.4
working range
dimension to which the gasket is compressed under normal working conditions
3.5
tensile recovery
ability of the gasket to recover its initial length after being stretched along the length direction
3.6
compression force
force applied to compress the gasket to its working range
3.7
complex weatherstrip
weatherstrip that is formed by composite molding of polymer materials with different physical properties
4 Classification, code and designation
4.1 Classification and code
4.1.1 Material categories
The gaskets are divided into single-material gaskets and complex weatherstrips by material. The categories and codes of commonly used single-material gaskets are shown in Table 1, and those of complex weatherstrips are shown in Table 2.

4.2 Designation
