3 Terms and Definitions
For the purposes of this document, the following terms and definitions apply.
3.1
Tire pressure monitoring systems
TPMS
Auxiliary system that is attached to vehicles to conduct real-time monitor for tire pressure parameters and displays and give an alarm with visual signal (may also including audible signal) to raise vehicle traveling safety, and reduces the abrasion and vehicle energy consumption caused by insufficient or higher air pressure.
3.1.1
TPM sensor module
Component assembly attached to the inside of tire or surface of wheel to measure tire pressure parameters and conduct information transmission.
3.1.2
Receiver module
Components used to receive the information sent by tire pressure monitoring module and to send signal to display module.
Note: sometimes receiver module and display module are combined together.
3.1.3
Display module
Device used to display such information as graphic symbol, character or value of alarm instruction.
3.2
Recommended cold tyre inflation pressure
prec
Air pressure value recommended for tyres at each position by vehicle manufacturers aimed at the scheduled working conditions of designated vehicle.
