Codeofchina.com is in charge of this English translation. In case of any doubt about the English translation, the Chinese original shall be considered authoritative. Clauses 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8 of this standard are mandatory and the rest are voluntary. This standard is developed in accordance with the rules given in GB/T 1.1-2009. This standard replaces GB/T 26149-2010 TPM sensor module based tire pressure monitoring systems for motor vehicles. The following main changes have been made with respect to GB/T 26149-2010: ——The nature of the standard is changed from the original voluntary national standard to mandatory national standard; ——The application scope is changed, namely, GB/T 26149-2010 is applicable to TPM sensor module based tire pressure monitoring systems for motor vehicles installed on Categories M and N vehicles, while this standard is applicable to Category M1 vehicles; ——Classification of tire pressure monitoring system is added; ——The functional and performance requirements are changed. GB/T 26149-2010 specifies the performance requirements for the functions and related functions of the TPM sensor module based tire pressure monitoring systems for motor vehicles, while this standard only specifies the performance requirements for the core functions and related functions such as under inflation alarm, fault alarm and startup check signal devices related to safety. ——Corresponding to the changes in functional and performance requirements, test methods are modified; ——Requirements for mandatory installation of tire pressure monitoring system on Category M1 vehicles are added. This standard was proposed by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of the People's Republic of China. This standard is under the jurisdiction of the National Technical Committee of Auto Standardization (SAC/TC 114). The previous edition of this standard is as follows: ——GB/T 26149-2010. Performance requirements and test methods of tire pressure monitoring system for passenger cars 1 Scope This standard specifies the performance requirements and test methods of tire pressure monitoring system for passenger cars. This standard is applicable to Category M1 vehicles. 2 Normative references The following referenced documents are indispensable for the application of this document. For dated references, only the edition cited applies. For undated references, the latest edition of the normative document (including any amendments) applies. GB/T 12534 Motor vehicles - General rules of road test method ECE R10 Uniform provisions concerning the approval of vehicles with regard to electromagnetic compatibility 3 Terms and definitions For the purposes of this document, the following terms and definitions apply. 3.1 tire pressure monitoring system; TPMS a system installed on a vehicle that monitors tire pressure in some way and gives alarm when one or more tires are under inflation 3.2 recommended cold tire pressure; Prec tire pressure value recommended by the vehicle manufacturer for the tire at each position for the predetermined operating conditions of the vehicle (e.g. load, vehicle speed, etc.) at ambient temperature, without accumulation of pressure due to use Note: Prec is generally is indicated in the vehicle user manual or on the driving cab door (B-pillar), fuel tank cap, storage box, etc. 3.3 under inflation the condition that the tire pressure is less than or equal to 75% of the recommended cold tire pressure (Prec) 3.4 common space area where two or more information functions (e.g. marks) can be displayed asynchronously 4 Classification If the vehicle is equipped with one of the following two types of TPMS, it is considered that the vehicle is equipped with the tire pressure monitoring system defined in this standard: ——Type I TPMS: meeting all relevant functional and performance requirements except for 5.2.3, 5.3.2 and 5.4.2; ——Type II TPMS: meeting all relevant functional and performance requirements except for 5.2.2, 5.3.1 and 5.4.1. 5 Functional and performance requirements 5.1 Electromagnetic compatibility TPMS installed on the vehicle shall comply with requirements for electrical/electronic components in ECE R10. 5.2 Signal devices 5.2.1 Marks of tire pressure abnormality and fault alarm signal devices shall meet one of the following conditions: a) Mark shown in Figure 1; b) Mark shown in Figure 2 or the modified mark shown in Figure 2 close to the real vehicle appearance, indicating the tire with abnormal pressure. Figure 1 Figure 2 5.2.2 Vehicles equipped with Type I TPMS shall have tire pressure abnormality alarm signal device conforming to the requirements of 5.2.1 a) and 5.2.1 b), which will send an optical alarm signal to the driver when any tire is under inflation and also indicate the specific position of the under-inflation tire. The alarm can be assisted by additional text description or acoustic method. 5.2.3 Vehicles equipped with Type II TPMS shall have at least a tire pressure abnormality alarm signal device conforming to the requirements of 5.2.1 a), which will send an optical alarm signal to the driver when any tire is under inflation. The alarm can be assisted by additional text description or acoustic method. 5.2.4 Vehicles equipped with TPMS shall have fault alarm signal device, which will send an optical alarm signal to the driver through the signal device conforming to the requirements of 5.2.1 when TPMS fails. The alarm can be assisted by additional text description or acoustic method. 5.2.5 If the tire under inflation alarm and the fault alarm share one signal device, their expression methods shall be clearly distinguished from each other and shall also be clearly explained in the vehicle user manual. 5.2.6 The signal devices described in 5.2.2~5.2.4 shall meet the following requirements: a) They shall be in front of the driver and easy to observe, so that the driver can easily check the state of the signal device at the driving position. b) They shall be yellow when it turns on; this color requirement does not apply to the signal device located in common space. c) They shall be bright enough and eye-catching after turning on, so that the driver can clearly observe whether driving in the daytime or at night after adapting to the ambient road lighting conditions.
