1 Scope
This standard specifies the definitions, requirements, test methods and inspection rules of the masonry cement.
This standard is applicable to masonry cement.

3 Definitions and Codes
The masonry cement refers to the hydraulic cementing materials with better working performance grinded and thinned by adding adequate Portland cement clinker and gypsum into the cement admixture(s), given with a code of M.
4 Usage
Masonry cement is mainly adopted for masonry and plastering mortar as well as blinding concrete and it is not applicable to structural concrete.
5 Composition and Materials
5.1 Composition
The mass percent of mixed materials in cement shall be greater than 50%, adequate amount of limestone or kiln dust is allowed to be mixed into the cement..
5.2 Cement admixtures
It refers to the mixed materials specified in GB/T 203, GB/T 1596, GB/T 2847, GB/T 6645, JC/T 417, JC/T 418, JC/T 454, JC/T 742 and YB/T 022, as well as the active admixtures newly-applied according to Appendix A of GB 12958-1999, and the aluminium oxide in limestone shall not exceed 2.5%.
