3. Classification
3.1 Electrode type is classified according to mechanical properties of deposited metal, coating type, welding position and welding current categories (see Table 1).
3.2 Electrode type establishment method is as follows: letter "E" denotes electrode, the former two figures denote the minimum value for tensile strength of deposited metal, the third figure denotes welding position of the electrode, "0" and "1" denote that the electrode is applicable to all-position welding (flat, vertical, overhead and horizontal), "2" denotes that the electrode is applicable to flat welding and flat fillet weld, "4" denotes that the electrode is applicable to vertical down welding, the third and fourth figures combination denotes welding current category and coating type. Affix "R" at back of the fourth figure denotes moisture absorption proof electrode, affix "M" denotes electrodes with special regulations on moisture absorption proof and mechanical properties, affix "-1" denotes electrode with special regulations on impact property.

3. Classification
3.1 Electrode type is classified according to mechanical properties of deposited metal, coating type, welding position and welding current categories (see Table 1).
