This standard specifies the ordering instructions, classification of radiographic techniques, general requirements, radiography, radiograph evaluation, testing records and reports for radiography of castings by means of X- and gamma-ray techniques with film.
This standard is applicable to the radiographic testing of castings made from steel, copper and copper alloys, nickel and nickel alloys, aluminum and aluminum alloys, and titanium and titanium alloys, which are produced by various technological processes for casting. It can also serve as a reference for the radiographic testing of castings made from other metal materials.
