Test Method for Moisture Regain in Raw Cotton by Oven Drying
1 Scope
This standard specifies the test method for the determination of moisture regain in raw cotton by hot weighing in the oven.
This standard is applicable to the raw cotton from the seed cotton processed by the saw gin or roller gin.
2 Normative References
The following standards contain provisions which, through reference in this text, constitute provisions of this standard. For dated reference, subsequent amendments to (excluding correction to), or revisions of, any of these publications do not apply. However, the parties to agreements based on this standard are encouraged to investigate the possibility of applying the most recent editions of the standards. For undated references, the latest edition of the normative document referred to applies.

GB/T 3291.3 Textiles--Terms of Textile Material Properties and Test--Part 3: General
3 Terms and Definitions
For the purposes of this standard, the following terms and definitions apply.
3.1
Moisture
Water and other volatile matters lost during the oven-drying test of raw cotton
3.2
Constant mass
Weigh the raw cotton every other 15min during the process of oven-drying test. When the difference of two continuous weighing mass is less than 0.05% of the latter weighing mass, the latter weighing mass is regarded as the constant mass.
3.3
Oven-drying mass
Oven-drying mass is the mass of the test specimen dried to the constant mass after placed in the oven for the oven-drying test.
