1 Scope
This standard specifies the testing method for moisture regain of man-made fibres - oven-drying method. If any dispute, oven weighting method is adopted, the oven-dry mass determined at nonstandard atmospheric condition is corrected to the value at standard atmospheric condition by correction method as detailed in Annex A. If this method is not applicable, corresponding testing methods are determined through consultation by the relevant parties. Annex B is only applicable to dacron.
This method is applicable to the testing for moisture regain of man-made fibres like polyester (dacron), polyamide (chinlon), polyacrylonitrile (acrylon), polypropylene (PP), polyvinyl formal (vinylon), polyvinyl chloride (PVO) and cellulose fibre.
