1 Scope
This standard specifies the terms and definitions, classification, requirements, test methods, inspection rules, marking, packaging, transportation and storage for hydraulic excavators.
This standard is applicable to the tyred and crawler hydraulic excavators (hereinafter referred to as "excavators") with a mass of not more than 200 000 kg as specified in GB/T 8498.

3 Terms and Definitions
For the purposes of this document, the terms and definitions given in GB/T 6572 and GB/T 25602 and the following apply.
4 Classification
4.1 Type
Classification according to travel mode:
— Crawler excavator;
— Tyred excavator;
— Walking excavator.
4.2 Model
The product model of excavators shall be in accordance with JB/T 9725 or at the manufacturer's discretion.
4.3 Principal parameters
The operating mass is taken as the principal parameter of excavators.
4.4 Main parameters
See Annex A for the list of the main parameters of excavators.
5 Requirements
5.1 General requirements
5.1.1 Operator's manual of excavators is prepared in accordance with GB/T 25622.
5.1.2 Excavators shall be able to operate normally under ambient conditions with an ambient temperature of -15℃ to +40℃ and an altitude of not more than 2000 m.
5.1.3 The appearance painting quality of excavators shall be in accordance with the requirements of JB/T 5946.
5.1.4 Control devices of excavators shall meet the requirements of GB/T 8595.
5.1.5 The fuel tank capacity of excavators with operating mass greater than 6000 kg shall ensure that the complete machine could be operated normally and continuously for more than 10 h.
5.2 Performance requirements
5.2.1 As for the hydraulic system of excavators, the pollution grade of the solid particles in the oil liquid shall not exceed -/18/15 (which are specified in GB/T 14039-2002).
5.2.2 When the excavators are subjected to the test conditions specified in GB/T 7586, the displacement of the hydraulic cylinder piston rod of excavator boom caused by the leakage in the system shall not be greater than 25 mm/10 min.
5.2.3 When the new machine is shipped from the factory, there shall be no leakage.
5.2.4 The gradeability of tyred excavator shall not be less than 35% and that of the crawler excavator shall not be less than 50%.
5.2.5 The straight deviation of a crawler excavator running in straight line shall not be greater than 5% of the measured distance.
5.2.6 Under the conditions specified in GB/T 36693, the reliability of excavators shall meet the following requirements:
— The mean time between failure (MTBF) of excavators with operating mass of 6000 kg or less shall not be less than 300h, and the MTBF of excavators with operating mass above 6000kg shall not be less than 600h;
— The operational availability shall not be less than 90%.
5.3 Safety requirements
5.3.1 The excavators shall be provided with safety labels complying with those specified in GB 20178.
5.3.2 The operator's field of view shall meet the requirements of GB/T 16937. The excavators can be equipped with corresponding auxiliary equipment (for example, rearview mirrors, monitoring devices, etc.) to supplement the direct field of view. The field of view of the rearview mirror and monitoring device shall meet the requirements of GB/T 25685.2.
5.3.3 The front window of the operator's cab shall be equipped with a wiper and a cleaner.
5.3.4 Electrical control system shall be equipped with foolproof overload protective device.
5.3.5 The excavators shall meet the requirements of the applicable mandatory provisions of GB 25684.5.
5.3.6 The excavators should meet the requirements of the applicable recommendatory provisions of GB 25684.5.
