3 Terms and Definitions
For the purpose of this Part, the terms and definitions established in GB/T 2900.10 and the following ones apply.
3.1
Rated voltage
The reference voltage for the cable design, selection and electrical property test
Note 1: rated voltage is represented in U0/U and its unit is KV. U0 represents the RMS voltage between any major insulation conductor and "ground" (metallic shield, metallic sheath or ambient medium); U is the RMS voltage between any two-phase conductor of multi-core cable or single-core cable system. In the AC system, the rated voltage of cable shall be at least equal to the nominal voltage of the system where the cable is used, which applies to both U0 and U. In the DC system, the standard voltage of this system shall not be greater than 1.5 times of the rated voltage of the cable. The working voltage of the system shall not be greater than 1.1 times of the rated voltage of system and shall meet the requirements of "Safety Regulations in Coal Mine".
Note 2: this definition is changed from definition 3.1.2 of GB 12972.1-1991.
3.2
Type test
The test conducted by the manufacturer before supplying a certain cables specified in the cable standard.
Note 1: these tests are of such a nature that, after they have been made, they need not be repeated unless changes are made in the cable materials, structures or processes that might change the performance characteristics, or unless otherwise specified, such as periodic test.
Note 2: this definition is changed from definition 3.2.3 of GB/T 12706.1-2002.
3.3
Sample test (s)
Tests made by the manufacturer on samples of completed cable or components taken from a completed cable according to the manufacture batch
Note: this definition is changed from definition 3.2.2 of GB/T 12706.1 - 2002.
