1 Scope
1.1 This part in NB/T 47003 specifies the requirements in design, manufacture, inspection and acceptance of silos for solid materials (hereinafter referred to as silos).
1.2 This part is applicable to steel or aluminium made welded vertical circular silos used for storing solid bulky materials, which the volume is greater than 15m3, the design pressure is larger than -500Pa and less than 0.1MPa, and the design temperature is the service temperature required by silos shell material.
The silos which the parameters exceed above parameter range may be designed and manufactured by reference to this part.
1.3 This standard is not applicable to the following siloses:
a) Silos directly embedded underground;
b) Siloses storing extremely or highly toxic medium;
c) Bunkers moved often;
d) Bunkers which the volume is less than or equal to 15m3.

3 Terms and Definitions
The following terms and definitions are applicable to this Part of NB/T 47003.
3.1
Pressure
All shall be gauge pressure except ones noted.
3.2
Operating pressure
Operating pressure is referred to the maximum pressure on the top of the vessel under normal operating conditions.
3.3
Design pressure
Design pressure is referred to the maximum pressure on the top of silos, and it is not lower than the operating pressure.
3.4
Metal temperature
Metal temperature is referrers to the average temperature along the metal sections of the vessel components.
In any case, the surface temperature of the component metal must not exceed the allowable service temperature of the metal material.
3.5
Design temperature
Design temperature is referred to the set metal temperature of a component part under normal operating conditions, and the value hereof must not be lower than the possible maximal metal temperature of the component metal under operating conditions. as for the metal temperature under 0℃, the design temperature must not be higher than the minimal temperature the component metal may reach.
