1 Scope
This standard specifies the terminologies and definitions, product classification, requirements, test methods, inspection rules, and marking, packaging, transportation and storage of sofa.
This standard is applicable to sofa for indoor use. Where specific product standards are available, the requirements of the relevant product standards shall be complied with.

3 Terminologies and Definitions
For the purposes of this document, the following terminologies and definitions apply.
3.1
Sofa
A kind of seat composed of main body frame (of wood, metal or other rigid materials) and surface cover (cladded with elastic material or other soft materials).
3.2
Inserting line
The line being inserted in when the fabric is sewed up.
3.3
Edge
The peripheral part of seat, back and armrest of sofa.
3.4
Zigzag spring
A kind of continuous sigmoid spring bent from spring steel wire.
3.5
Compression amount
A displacement difference of sofa seat surface along the forced directions measured at a detection position on the sofa seat surface when applying two vertical downward forces respectively by passing through the center of round cushion block.
