Upholstered furniture – Sofa
1 Scope
This document specifies the main dimensions and deviations, external symmetry, product materials and processing, appearance performance, physical and chemical properties, mechanical properties, safety performance, and other requirements for sofas. It describes the corresponding test methods, specifies inspection rules, markings, instructions for use, packaging, transportation, and storage, and provides product classification for technical regulations.
This document is applicable to the production, grading, inspection, and sale of sofas for indoor use.

leather
raw leather with a roughly intact natural fiber structure, which is tanned into a non-perishable material

imitation leather
collective term for synthetic animal leather substitutes consisting of a coating and a fabric substrate
Note: This includes artificial leather and synthetic leather, but does not include laminated leather with animal leather as base material.

artificial leather sofa; synthetic leather sofa
sofa whose main exterior (except the bottom of the seat surface) is covered with artificial leather (3.2)
3.4
leather sofa
sofa covered with natural animal leather, recycled leather (3.12) and artificial leather (3.2) on the exterior of the product (except the bottom of the seat surface)
3.5
the front width of seat

widest part on the inner side of the seat surface of the armrest of the sofa, or the widest part on the front edge of the seat surface if there is no armrest

4 Product classification
4.1 Classified by the wrapping material of the product:
a) Leather sofa;
b) Artificial leather sofa;
c) Fabric sofa;
d) Fabric and leather sofa.
4.2 Classified by product usage function:
a) Ordinary sofa: A sofa that only has the function of seating;
b) Functional sofa: In addition to the function of a seat, it also has other functions such as a bed.
