Breast pads
1 Scope
This standard specifies the requirements, test methods, inspection rules, marking, packaging, transportation and storage of breast pads.
This standard is applicable to disposable sanitary products which are composed of surface layer, inner absorption layer and leak-proof basement membrane, and are specially designed for lactating women to prevent the breast milk from overflowing.
2 Normative references
The following referenced documents are indispensable for the application of this document. For dated references, only the edition cited applies. For undated references, the latest edition of the referenced document (including any amendments) applies.
GB/T 462 Paper, board and pulp - Determination of moisture content of analytical sample
GB/T 1914 Chemical analytical filter paper
GB/T 2828.1 Sampling procedures for inspection by attributes - Part 1: Sampling schemes indexed by acceptance quality limit (AQL) for lot-by-lot inspection
GB/T 10739 Paper, board and pulps - Standard atmosphere for conditioning and testing
GB 15979 Hygienic Standard for disposable sanitary products
GB/T 22903 Pulps - Standard water for physical testing
3 Requirements
3.1 The technical index of breast pad shall be in accordance with those specified in Table 1 or as contracted.
Table 1
Item Unit Index
Mass deviation % ±12
Formaldehyde content ≤ mg/kg 20
Migratable fluorescent material — Acceptable
Water absorption ≥ Times 7.0
Rewet ≤ g 1.0
pH — 4.0~9.0
Delivery moisture ≤ % 10.0
3.2 The hygienic indexes of breast pad shall comply with GB 15979.
3.3 The breast pad shall not be made of recycled materials and shall be free from foreign matters; the appearance of the product shall be clean, free of dirt and damage.
3.4 The breast pad shall be sealed firmly and shall not be broken when in use.
3.5 The gum of the breast pad shall have a moderate viscosity so that the breast pad has no displacement during normal use, and the underwear is free from damage and obvious residue when peeling off the breast pad. The release paper shall not fall off by itself, and can be torn off naturally and completely.
4 Test methods
4.1 Pretreatment of specimen
The standard atmosphere for specimen test shall be in accordance with GB/T 10739.
4.2 Mass deviation
Weigh the net weight (including release paper) of 6 specimens of the same specification with a balance with a sensitivity of 0.01g, and calculate the mass deviation using Equations (1) and (2) according to the maximum, minimum and average masses of 6 specimens, with result accurate to 1%:
(1)
(2)
4.3 Formaldehyde content
Formaldehyde content shall be determined in accordance with Annex A.
4.4 Migratable fluorescent substance
Migratable fluorescent substance shall be determined in accordance with Annex B.
4.5 Water absorption
Take a specimen, tear off the release paper, and weigh its mass (mass before absorption) with a balance with a sensitivity of 0.01g. Clamp one sealing end of the specimen without clamping the inner absorption layer, and immerse the specimen and the clamp into the standard water for test with a depth of about 10cm and a temperature of (23±1)℃ as specified in GB/T 22903, with the used side of the specimen facing up. Gently press the specimen to completely immerse it for 60s, then lift the clamp to make the specimen completely leave the water surface, hang it vertically for 90s, weigh its mass (mass after absorption), and calculate its water absorption using Equation (3). A total of 5 specimens shall be tested, and the average of these 5 specimens shall be taken as the determination result, which shall be accurate to one decimal place:
(3)
4.6 Rewet
Rewet shall be determined in accordance with Annex C.
4.7 pH
pH shall be determined in accordance with Annex D.
4.8 Delivery moisture
Delivery moisture shall be determined in accordance with GB/T 462. Sampling method: take two samples from each of two packages, and take about 1g specimen from each sample (which shall not contain gum and release paper). Cut the specimens into blocks, mix them well and divide into two groups for parallel test. The absolute error between the two determined values shall not exceed 1.0%, and the arithmetic average shall be taken as the determination result. Sampling time shall be shortened as possible, which is generally not more than 2min.
