Bridge inspection vehicle
1 Scope
This standard specifies the terms and definitions, basic specifications, requirements, test methods, inspection rules and marking, instructions for use and accompanying documents, transportation, and storage of bridge inspection vehicles.
This standard is applicable to folding, truss and mixed bridge inspection vehicles modified with finalized stereotyped automobile chassis. Reference may be made to this standard for bridge inspection vehicles of other types or with special requirements.

For the purposes of this document, the following terms and definitions apply.

bridge inspection working platform
device used to transport personnel, tools and materials to designated locations for work, including a work platform with a controller and a stretching mechanism
3.2
work platform
device for carrying workers and working equipment in the air by a bridge inspection vehicle
3.3
maximum working height
maximum vertical distance from the bottom surface of the platform and the bearing surface when the working platform is on the bearing surface of the bridge inspection vehicle
3.4
maximum vertical working radius
maximum vertical distance (Hmax) from the bottom surface of the platform to the bearing surface when the working platform is under the bearing surface of the bridge inspection vehicle, as shown in Figure 1

minimum vertical working radius
minimum vertical distance (Hmin) from the platform bottom surface to the bearing surface when the working platform is under the bearing surface of the bridge inspection vehicle, as shown in Figure 1

slewing center I
center of the overall slewing of the work platform

center of the slewing of the work platform
3.8
maximum horizontal working radius
maximum horizontal distance (L) from the slewing center II of the support structure to the outer edge of the platform when the platform is perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the support structure, as shown in Figure 1

maximum distance of sideway spanning
maximum horizontal distance (L1) that the bridge inspection vehicle can cross the right outer edge of the bridge during operation, as shown in Figure 1

maximum height of guardrail spanning
maximum height (H1) that the bridge inspection vehicle can cross the side road guardrail during operation, as shown in Figure 1
