This standard replaces QC/T 826-2010 Bridge inspection vehicle. In addition to a number of editorial changes, the following technical changes have been made with respect to QC/T 826-2010:

Bridge inspection vehicle
1 Scope
This standard specifies the terms and definitions, specifications (models), classification and basic requirements, requirements, test methods, inspection rules, marking, instructions for use and accompanying documents, transportation and storage of bridge inspection vehicles.
This standard is applicable to bridge inspection vehicles modified with finalized stereotyped vehicle chassis. Reference may be made to this standard for bridge inspection vehicles of other types or with special requirements.

For the purposes of this document, the following terms and definitions apply.

bridge inspection vehicle
special motor vehicle for operation, which is equipped with devices such as rotary, luffing and telescopic mechanism as well as control system, and is intended for bridge inspection and maintenance
3.2
bridge inspection equipment
equipment of a bridge inspection vehicle, excluding the chassis part, which is used to transport workers and working equipment to the designated location for work
3.3
work platform
equipment of a bridge inspection vehicle, which is used for carrying workers and working equipment
3.4
maximum horizontal range
maximum horizontal distance (L) from the slewing center II of a work platform to the outer edge of the platform when the platform is perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the supporting, as shown in Table A.1 of Annex A
3.5
maximum lower depth
maximum vertical distance (Hmax) from the lowest bearing surface of a work platform to the support surface of the bridge inspection vehicle when the work platform is below the support surface of the bridge inspection vehicle, as shown in Table A.2 of Annex A

4 Specification, classification and basic parameters
4.1 Specifications (models) of bridge inspection equipment
The specifications (models) of bridge inspection equipment shall consist of product code, structural type code, main parameters and design sequence number:
4.2 Structural type
By structural type, bridge inspection vehicles are classified into the following three types, as shown in Table 1. See Annex B for the specific structural types.

4.3 Basic parameters
The basic parameters of bridge inspection vehicles specified in Table 2 shall be preferred.

5 Requirements
5.1 Whole vehicle
5.1.1 The bridge inspection vehicle shall comply with the requirements of this standard and be manufactured according to the product drawings and technical documents approved by the specified procedures.
5.1.2 The procured parts and cooperation parts shall meet the requirements of relevant standards and be accompanied with the manufacturer’s certificate of approval, and they shall not be used until passing the inspection conducted by the manufacturer. All self-made parts and components shall not be assembled before passing the inspection.
5.1.3 The operation safety of a bridge inspection vehicle shall meet the requirements specified in GB 7258.
5.1.4 The overall dimensions of a bridge inspection vehicle shall meet the requirements specified in GB 1589.
5.1.5 The maximum design total mass of a bridge inspection vehicle shall not exceed the mass corresponding to the sum of the axle loads of all the axles:
—— if the maximum total design mass is less than or equal to 26,000 kg, the axle load and mass limit shall comply with the requirements specified in GB 1589;
—— if the maximum total design mass is greater than 26,000 kg, the axle load of a single tire on each side shall not exceed the corresponding load of 12,000 kg, and the axle load of double tires on each side shall not exceed the corresponding load of 13,000 kg.
5.1.6 The installation of the lighting and light-signalling devices of a bridge inspection vehicle shall meet the requirements specified in GB 4785.
5.1.7 The retro-reflective markings on the body of a bridge inspection vehicle shall meet the requirements specified in GB 7258 and GB/T 23254.
5.1.8 The lateral protection device as well as rear underrun protection device of a bridge inspection vehicle shall meet the requirements specified in GB 11567.
5.1.9 The installation location of the front and rear license plates of a bridge inspection vehicle shall meet the requirements specified in GB 15741.

5 Requirements
