1 General Provisions
1.0.1 This code is applicable to the design of instrument selection for the construction of petrochemical enterprises and may be implemented by reference for the extension and renovation engineering.
1.0.2 During the implementation of this code, the requirements of current relevant standards and codes shall also be complied with.
2 General Requirements
2.0.1 The instrument selection shall be determined according to factors such as scale, process features, operation requirements and automatic control level of process unit.
2.0.2 The instrument adopted in the design must be qualified products which are recognized by the state authorization department and granted manufacturing license. It is strictly forbidden to select the trial instruments which have not subject to the industrial appraisal.
2.0.3 The instrument selection shall be carried out by safe, reliable, advanced, economic and rational technology.
2.0.4 In the same engineering project, the variety and specification of instrument shall be uniform as much as possible.
2.0.5 The instrument selection shall facilitate to the centralized control and management in the whole plant or a region and in favor of improving the management level of petrochemical enterprise production.
2.0.6 The selection of monitoring instrument system shall meet the following requirements:
1 For the convenience of the production management of the whole plant, digital control system, such as distributed control system (DCS), data acquisition system, industrial microcomputer and programmable controller (PLC), should be selected for the ordinary and auxiliary production equipment;
2 Electric instrument or pneumatic instrument may be selected according to specific conditions;
3 Distributed control system and supervisory control computer system should be adopted for large scale petrochemical unit.
2.0.7 The explosion-proof type of instrument shall be determined according to the requirements of relevant current design code for electrical devices in explosion and fire hazard area, the explosion danger type and scope of the instrument installation site as well as the grade and classification of explosive mixtures.
2.0.8 The protection type of instrument shall be determined according to the relevant current requirements.
