1 Scope
This specification specifies the construction technology and quality requirements of external surface anticorrosive coating for steel equipment, pipelines and steel structure in petrochemical industry.
It is applicable to the construction of external surface anticorrosive coating for steel equipment, pipelines and steel structure in constructed, renovated and extended works of petrochemical industry but not construction of anticorrosive coating for long-distance pipelines.

3 Terms and definitions
For the purposes of this specification, the following terms and definitions apply.
3.1
coating
a generic term for a kind of liquid or solid materials coated on the surface of steel to form a continuous solid film with corrosion protection, decoration or special properties (such as identification, insulation, abrasion resistance)
3.2
coat
continuous film layer formed as a result of coating application
3.3
painting
painting, also called coating application, refers to the process of applying coating on the base surface to form a coat with protection, finishing or specific functions
3.4
anti-corrosive coat
a kind of coat mainly used to prevent corrosion of steel
3.5
surface lay
small spacing and tiny peak and valley roughness of the treated steel surface
3.6
glue strength
adhesion and strength formed between the coat and the steel surface or the coats
3.7
adhesion
total binding force of the coat and the base
3.8
film
thickness of continuous films formed by applying one or more coats
3.9
priming coat
coat under the intermediate coat or top coat in the coat system, or the coat directly applied to the steel surface
3.10
top coat
coat above the intermediate coat or priming coat in the coat system
