3 Terminologies and Definitions
For the purposes of this standard, the terminologies and definitions established in GB/T 4549.4-2004 and the following ones apply.
3.1
Rated travel
In the drop hammer test by the established procedures, it refers to the travel when the draft gear reaches or is approximate to the rated resistance (the average of two times) or leaves 0.25mm before reaching dead compression (whichever reaches first) in two consecutive times of hammering in the same height of fall. In the impact test, it refers to the travel when the draft gear reaches the rated resistance.
3.2
Maximum travel
In the drop hammer test by the established procedures, it refers to the travel when the draft gear reaches or is approximate to the maximum resistance (the average of two times) or leaves 0.25mm before reaching dead compression (whichever reaches first) in two consecutive times of hammering in the same height of fall. In the impact test, it refers to the travel when the draft gear reaches the maximum resistance.
