1 Scope
This standard specifies the technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules, packaging, storage and transportation, etc. of protective paints for rolling stock and is applicable to protective paints for rolling stock.

3 Technical Requirements
3.1 Anti-rust primer for railway rolling stock
According to the requirements of TB/T 2260.
3.2 Finish paint for railway rolling stock
According to the requirements of TB/T 2393.
3.3 Putty (Categories A and B) for railway rolling stock
According to the requirements of Annex A in TB/T 2393.
3.4 Alkyd paste paint for railway rolling stock
According to the requirements of TB/T 2707.
3.5 Other paint categories
Other paint categories such as powder paints, new paints, other functional paints and the like shall be in accordance with the relevant requirements or the requirements negotiated by the user and manufacturer.
4 Inspection
4.1 Preparation of test panels
4.1.1 Test panels
Test panel shall be in accordance with those specified in 3.2 of TB/T 2879.2-1998.
4.1.2 Sample state regulation and test temperature and humidity
Sample state regulation and test temperature and humidity shall be carried out according to the requirements of 3.3 in TB/T 2879.2-1998.
4.2 Inspection during goods procurement
4.2.1 Viscosity
Viscosity shall be inspected in accordance with the requirements of 4.1.1 in TB/T 2879.2-1998.
4.2.2 Density
Density shall be inspected in accordance with the requirements of 4.1.2 in TB/T 2879.2-1998.
4.2.3 Content of volatile substance and non-volatile substance
The content of volatile substance and non-volatile substance shall be inspected in accordance with the requirements of 4.1.3 in TB/T 2879.2-1998.
4.2.4 Fineness
Fineness shall be inspected in accordance with the requirements of 4.1.4 in TB/T 2879.2-1998.
4.2.5 Storage stability
Package stability shall be inspected in accordance with the requirements of 4.1.5 in TB/T 2879.2-1998. Paint products shall keep their properties specified in this technical specification during the specified warranty period.
4.2.6 Freeze resistance of water soluble paint

4.2.7 Flash point and hazard grade

4.3 Inspection of the to-be-applied paints
4.3.1 Pot life of two-component paints
Applicable life of two-component paint shall be inspected in accordance with the requirements of 4.2.1 in TB/T 2879.2-1998.
4.3.2 Matchability
Matchability shall be inspected in accordance with the requirements of 4.2.2 in TB/T 2879.2-1998. After the completion of the specified drying time, next layer of paint shall be capable of being sprayed or brushed on the original coating, and the film of the previous coating shall be free from excessive softening; after the drying of the next softening coating film, the painting system shall be free from obvious defects (such as bleeding and lifting).
4.3.3 Drying time
Drying time shall be inspected in accordance with the requirements of 4.2.3 in TB/T 2879.2-1998.
4.3.4 Hiding power
Hiding power shall be inspected in accordance with the requirements of 4.2.4 in TB/T 2879.2-1998.
4.3.5 Putty scraping property
In order to inspect the putty scraping property, scraping method specified in GB/T 1727-92 shall be used to prepare and observe the putty film.
