1 Scope This standard specifies the product classification, dimension, function, requirements, test methods, inspection rules as well as marking, package, transportation and storage of high density polyethylene sheathing compounds used for bridge cables. This standard is applicable to high density polyethylene sheathing plastics prepared with high density polyethylene resin as the major raw material, added with additive of modifier, antioxygen, light stabilizer, carbon black or pigment and after mixing, plastifying and prilling. The high density polyethylene sheathing plastics are used for bridge stay cables and hanger rod cables. The cable sheathing compounds used for other cable structures could be used accordingly. 2 Normative References The following documents contain provisions which, through reference in this text, constitute provisions of this standard. The ordinary type PC-color is applicable to color sheathing in the outer-layer of cable in general region. The strong UV-resistant type NQ is applicable to the color sheathing in the outer-layer of cable in the low latitude and strong ultraviolet radiation region.
