本标准规定了工程用铬电镀层的表示方法、加工定货时需方应向供方提供的资料、工件镀前镀后的热处理工艺规范、镀层质量要求、试验方法等。本标准适用于黑色金属或有色金属基体上带底镀层或不带底镀层的工程用铬电镀层。工程用铬电镀层常被称为“厚铬”或“硬铬”层。本标准不包括用于防护装饰性目的的薄铬面层。工程用铬的应用实例及有关说明见附录A。
