本标准规定了焦化厂安全生产的有关要求。
本标准适用于各类型焦化厂新建、扩建和改造工程项目的设计、施工与验收，以及现有设施的生产、维护、检修和管理。
因采用新技术、引进技术和引进工程而不能执行本标准的有关规定时，需提出相应的安全规定（附科学依据），报所在地省级安全生产监督管理部门审查备案后，方能使用和运行。
