GB 15082-2026 Speedometer for motor vehicle and motorcycle
1 Scope
This document specifies the requirements, test methods and determination of same type for speedometers for motor vehicle and motorcycle in the installed state.
This document is applicable to the speedometers for motor vehicles of Categories M, N and L.

4 Requirements
4.1 General requirements
4.1.1 The vehicle shall be equipped with at least one of the following: an analogue (including physical pointer and virtual pointer) speedometer or a digital speedometer.
Note: A virtual pointer speedometer shall be visually identical to a physical pointer speedometer.
4.1.2 The information displayed on the speedometer shall be within the driver’s direct field of vision and shall be clearly legible in both day and night.
4.1.3 The maximum indicated speed on the speedometer shall be capable of covering the maximum design speed of the vehicle type on which it is fitted.
4.2 Speed marking
4.2.1 Scale intervals
For analogue speedometers, above 20 km/h, and for digital speedometers, above 5 km/h, the scale intervals shall be any one or more of 1 km/h, 2 km/h, 5 km/h or 10 km/h.
4.2.2 Scale values
For analogue speedometers, the spacing between scale values on the dial need not be uniform. Above 20 km/h, the scale values shall be marked as follows:
