本标准规定了气瓶型号命名方法，供气瓶设计、制造、使用和管理等有关部门应用。本标准适用于正常环境温度（－40～60℃）下使用的，公称工作压力为1.0～30MPa（表压、下同），公称容积为0.4～1000L，盛装永久气体、液化气体或溶解气体的气瓶，也适用于盛装吸附气体的气瓶。本标准不适用于灭火用的气瓶、非金属材料制成的气瓶、以及运输工具上和机器设备上附属的瓶式压力容器。
