Ventilation shall comply with the provisions of GB 6514 and GB 50019. The concentration of flammable gases in the dipping area shall not exceed 25% of their lower explosion limit (LEL). 4.4 Dipping booths shall comply with the following provisions: a) When dipping operators are working, the concentration of chemical hazardous agents in the workplace air shall comply with the provisions of GBZ 2.1; b) Dipping booths shall be equipped with independent ventilation systems; c) Continuously operating dipping booths shall be equipped with combustible gas detection and alarm systems, fire alarm systems, and automatic fire extinguishing systems; d) The alarm setpoint of combustible gas detectors shall not exceed 25% of the lower explosion limit (LEL) of the monitored combustible gas. 4.5 Lighting fixtures inside dipping booths shall be of explosion-proof or sealed explosion-proof lamp types; glass windows and observation windows on the booth structure shall be made of safety glass. 4.6 Open-top dip tanks with a volume ≤ 0.6 m³ or a liquid surface area ≤ 1 m² shall be equipped with non-combustible cover plates and dedicated fire extinguishing devices. Dip tanks with a volume > 0.6 m³ or a liquid surface area > 1 m² shall be equipped with dedicated or automatic fire extinguishing devices. 4.7 Prominent safety signs shall be posted in the dipping equipment area. Safety signs shall comply with the provisions of GB 5083 and GB 55037. 5 Dipping Equipment 5.1 Dip Tanks 5.1.1 The tank body shall be constructed of steel, reinforced concrete, or other non-combustible materials. For tanks with a volume exceeding 2 m³ or a liquid surface area exceeding 1 m², the fire resistance rating of the structural materials shall be not less than 1 hour. 5.1.2 Dip tanks placed underground shall have anti-leakage measures, and the tank opening shall be at least 150 mm above ground level. For dip tanks placed on the ground, when the distance between the tank opening and the ground floor or operating platform is less than 1050 mm, safety guardrails shall be installed around the tank opening.
