1 Scope This standard specifies technical requirements and inspection rules of complete popular karting (hereafter referred to as "karting") and its components. This standard is applicable to the appraisal inspection, acceptance inspection and arbitration inspection of karting produced and operated within the territory of China and imported karting. 2 Normative References The following normative documents contain provisions which, through reference in this text, constitute provisions of this standard. For dated references, subsequent amendments (excluding corrections) to, or revisions of, any of these publications do not apply. However, parties to agreements based on this standard are encouraged to investigate the possibility of applying the most recent editions of the normative documents indicated below. For undated references, the latest edition of the normative document referred to applies. GB/T 2828 Sampling Procedures and Tables for Lot-by-lot Inspection by Attributes (Apply to Inspection of Successive Lots or Batches) GB 19196 Kart Classification & Homologation GB 19197 Criteria for Karting Circuit Construction HG/T 2177 Appearance Quality of Tyres JB 3677 Tightening Torque for Automotive Threaded Fasteners JB/T 5943 Engineering Machinery - General Technical Specifications for Welding Parts 3 Technical Requirements 3.1 Basic Requirements Design, manufacture and repair of the karting shall meet the safety requirements. The karting shall be free from any defect causing harm to personal safety of karter and other personnel. The karting can be operated only after it is in a safe state. 3.2 Operating Conditions The karting shall be operated at the field complying with GB 19197.
