It is permissible for the school bus number not to be painted on the bus upon leaving the factory. 5.1.2 A special school bus shall be equipped with a frontal crash safety structure at the front. For a front transverse engine layout, the crankshaft centerline shall be located ahead of the foremost point of the front windshield. For a front longitudinal engine layout, the centerline between the first and second cylinders shall be located ahead of the foremost point of the front windshield. If the frontal crash performance of a large or medium special school bus is not inferior to the aforementioned two structures, the engine layout is not restricted. NOTE: The centerline between the first and second cylinders refers to the midpoint of the line connecting the centers of the first and second cylinders. 5.1.3 A special school bus shall not be an articulated bus or a double-deck bus. 5.1.4 The overall height of a special school bus shall not exceed 3.5 m. 5.1.5 If there are side luggage compartments, the height from the top of the luggage compartment to the ground shall be less than 1.0 m. 5.1.6 A special school bus shall not be equipped with an external roof rack. 5.1.7 There shall be no holes or gaps inside or outside the special school bus that could trap the fingers of infants or primary school students.
