1 Scope This standard specifies energy grade, minimum allowable values of energy efficiency, evaluated values of energy conservation, test methods and inspection rules for printers, fax machines and MFP (Multi-function Printer) which based on basic printing or faxing function with general purpose (hereafter referred to as simply product). This standard is applicable to the standard products (power: 220V, 50Hz; printing speed: <70p/min; format size: standard). This standard is not applicable to products with power only supplied by batteries or network interface (like USB and IEEE 1394), or products with Digital front-end (DFE). 2 Normative Reference The following standards contain provisions which, through reference in this standard, constitute provisions of this standard. For dated references, all subsequent modifications (excluding correction contents) or revisions are not applicable to this standard. However, all parties coming to an agreement according to this standard are encouraged to study whether the latest editions of these documents are applicable. For undated references, the latest editions of the normative documents are applicable to this standard.
