Fastened parts shall not be loose. 5.3 Performance of Main Components (Parts) 5.3.1 Power Supply 5.3.1.1 Signaling appliances powered by an external power supply shall be supplied by the connected control and indicating equipment. 5.3.1.2 When the signaling appliance is powered by a DC voltage, its power input terminals shall have protection against reverse polarity connection. 5.3.1.3 When the signaling appliance uses an external power supply and has an internal standby battery, the external power supply shall serve as the main power source, and the standby battery shall be a rechargeable battery. When the main power supply fails, it shall automatically switch to the standby battery. When the main power supply is restored, it shall automatically switch back to the main power supply and be capable of charging the standby battery. The switching between main and standby power shall not affect the normal operation of the signaling appliance. 5.3.1.4 Signaling appliances powered by an internal battery or equipped with an internal standby battery shall have battery undervoltage monitoring functionality. 5.3.2 Terminals The external connection terminals of the signaling appliance shall have clear and durable function markings.
