GB 31604.57-2023 National food safety standard - Determination of migration of benzophenone substances in food contact materials and articles
1 Scope
This standard specifies the determination method of migration quantity of eight kinds of benzophenone substances in food contact materials and articles.
Method I - Liquid chromatography is applicable to determination of the migration quantities of (2-hydroxy-4-methoxyphenyl) (2-hydroxyphenyl) ketone, 2, 4-dihydroxybenzophenone, (2-hydroxy-4-methoxyphenyl) phenylketone, 4, 4'-dihydroxybenzophenone, 2-hydroxy-4-n-octyloxybenzophenone, 2-hydroxy-4-n-hexyloxybenzophenone, benzophenone and 4, 4'-difluorobenzophenone from plastics, paint and coating, rubber, and food contact materials and articles using ink in food simulants of water, 4% (v/v) acetic acid, 10% (v/v) ethanol, 20% (v/v) ethanol and 50% (v/v) ethanol, and chemical alternative solvents 95% (v/v) ethanol and isooctane.
Method II - Liquid chromatography - Tandem mass spectrometry is applicable to determination of the migration quantities of (2-hydroxy-4-methoxyphenyl) (2-hydroxyphenyl) ketone, 2, 4-dihydroxybenzophenone, (2-hydroxy-4-methoxyphenyl) phenylketone, 4, 4'-dihydroxybenzophenone, 2-hydroxy-4-n-octyloxybenzophenone, 2-hydroxy-4-n-hexyloxybenzophenone, benzophenone and 4, 4'-difluorobenzophenone from plastics, paint and coating, rubber, and food contact materials and articles using ink in food simulants of water, 4% (v/v) acetic acid, 10% (v/v) ethanol, 20% (v/v) ethanol and 50% (v/v) ethanol and olive oil, and chemical alternative solvents 95% (v/v) ethanol and isooctane.
Method I Liquid chromatography
2 Principle
Food contact materials and articles are subjected to migration test according to GB 31604.1 and GB 5009.156, and then detected by liquid chromatography. The food simulants of water, 4% (v/v) acetic acid, 10% (v/v) ethanol, 20% (v/v) ethanol, and 50% (v/v) ethanol can be directly injected. The chemical alternative solvent of 95% (v/v) ethanol is diluted with water, filtered, and then injected. The chemical alternative solvent of isooctane is blown with nitrogen, redissolved in an aqueous methanol solution, filtered, and then injected. Quantification is carried out by the external standard method using peak area.
