本标准适用于可见光式或红外光式压力机用光线式安全装置（以下简称安全装置）。安全装置用于压力机，防止在冲压过程中发生人身事故。安全装置在压力机上的安装要求和压力机工作部件的安全要求，应符合JB 3350—83《机械压力机安全技术条件》的有关规定。安全装置的结构性能应为，当人体的某一部位遮断光线时，它能检测出光线被遮断，并输出信号，使压力机的滑块不能起动或停止运行。
