Note: The scope includes the electrophoretic tank, transfer tank, platform, and other related auxiliary equipment operation zones. 3.3 Electrophoretic Coating Tank A dedicated tank designed to perform electrophoretic coating operations. 3.4 Ultrafiltration System A closed ultrafiltration liquid circulation rinsing system consisting of an ultrafiltration device, electrophoretic coating tank, and post-rinsing equipment. 4 General Requirements 4.1 The electrophoretic coating area and its access passages and exits should be unobstructed and clearly marked. 4.2 The electrophoretic coating area should be easy to clean and free of water accumulation. The workshop floor should be flat, non-sparking, and equipped with floor washing facilities. The floor should undergo anti-corrosion treatment and be designed with a slope directing toward wastewater treatment collection pools or drainage ditches. 4.3 Drainage ditches and sumps for electrophoretic wastewater should be designed with anti-leakage and anti-corrosion measures. 4.4 Eye wash stations should be installed in the electrophoretic coating area. 4.5 Anti-fall devices should be installed around tanks, pits, and platforms. 4.6 All moving parts in the electrophoretic coating area should be equipped with protective guards. 4.7 Emergency response plans should be developed and updated promptly based on chemical hazards, electric shock, poisoning, and mechanical injuries associated with the electrophoretic coating area. Emergency equipment should be provided, and regular drills should be conducted for relevant personnel. 4.8 Enterprises should provide safety education and training for workers on safety management systems, operating procedures, emergency response plans, and risk control measures. 4.9 Enterprises should provide workers with personal protective equipment (PPE) compliant with GB 39800.1. 5 Equipment and Facilities 5.1 Enclosure 5.1.1 The electrophoretic coating tank should be installed in a closed enclosure (except for workpiece entry/exit points) with ventilation and exhaust systems. The enclosure should include safety doors with high-voltage hazard indicators and emergency stop buttons near safety doors or observation windows. Safety doors should be equipped with locking handles. 5.1.2 If lighting fixtures are installed inside the enclosure, moisture-proof light boxes should be used. 5.1.3 Access pathways inside and outside the enclosure should remain unobstructed. 5.1.4 The bottom of the enclosure should be treated for leak prevention. 5.1.5 Observation windows should be installed on the sidewalls of the enclosure. 5.2 Electrophoretic Coating Tank 5.2.1 Tank Body 5.2.1.1 If the electrophoretic coating tank is made of metal or other non-insulating materials, the interior should undergo anti-corrosion and insulation treatment, with dry-state DC voltage resistance not less than 20 kV. 5.2.1.2 If a non-metallic material stirring system is installed inside the tank, protective bars should be provided. The bars should be positioned to prevent contact between workpieces and the stirring system. 5.2.1.3 If the tank depth exceeds 1,500 mm, an internal ladder should be installed. The ladder should undergo anti-corrosion treatment. If a fixed steel ladder is used, it should also be insulated. 5.2.1.4 The electrophoretic coating tank should be equipped with a liquid level limiting device. 5.2.2 Tank Opening 5.2.2.1 The highest liquid level of the electrophoretic coating should be no less than 150 mm below the tank opening. 5.2.2.2 Safety guards should be installed around the tank opening (except for workpiece entry/exit points), with a height no less than 1,050 mm above the walkway for electrophoretic operations. 5.2.3 Tank Discharge System 5.2.3.1 A tank discharge system should be installed at the bottom of the tank. In case of emergencies or maintenance, the system should be able to quickly transfer the electrophoretic coating solution to a transfer tank.
