为了在煤炭井下机车运输信号设计中贯彻国家的方针政策，做到安全可靠、技术先进、经济合理，并提高井下机车运输的自动化水平，特制定《煤炭井下机车运输信号设计规范》。本规范由中国煤炭建设协会负责主编，经中华人民共和国建设部批准，自2006年12月1日起实施，编号为GB 50388－2006。其中22条为强制性条文，必须严格执行本规范共分10章2个附录。包括：总则、术语、运输信号系统分类和设置原则、进路设计、信号机、转辙装置、列车位置传感器、显示装置及控制台、电源及电缆线路、信号设备硐室等内容。本规范适用于煤矿新建、改建、扩建、生产矿井的井下（包括平硐）轨道机车运输信号。适合对象：煤矿井下机车运输信号设计、施工、检验等相关人员以及相关专业院校师生等。
