1 General Provisions
1.0.1 This code is formulated with a view to implement national technical and economic policies in slurry pipeline construction, and to achieve edge technology, safety and usability, economy and rationality, quality guaranteeing, energy conservation and environment protection.
1.0.2 This code is applicable to construction, extension and renovation of steel slurry pipeline engineering, including construction and acceptance of pipeline erection between processing plant or tank farm and terminal users.This code is not applicable to tubing or pipe installation in the plant or station.
1.0.3 Not only the requirements stipulated in this code, but also those in the current relevant ones of the nation shall be complied with.
2 Terms
2.0.1
slurry pipeline
a term which indicates that the pipeline transmitting mixed medium of solid granular material and liquid.
2.0.2
pipe laying with flexible bending
a term which indicates that the laying of pipeline generating elastic bending due to external force or self-gravity effect.
2.0.3
cold bendings
a term which indicates that the pipe bent into the angle needed by die or clamp under heating free conditions.
2.0.4
hot bendings
a term which indicates that Pipe with specific angles is manufactured from base pipe using bending clamps with heating method.
2.0.5
vertical slope change point
a term which indicates that grade change point of slope of longitudinal pipe trench.
2.0.6
multi-pass welding
a term which indicates that the welding conducted to complete the whole seam by more than two weld passes.
2.0.7
root pass
a term which indicates that the weld bead welded at root of joint during multi-pass welding.
2.0.8
hot bead
a term which indicates that the 2nd weld pass welded in time after completion of root welding in order to prevent root cold crack or root burn-through.

filler bead
a term which indicates that the pass after completion of root welding or hot welding and prior to cover welding.
2.0.10
stripper bead
a term which indicates that the filler bead conducted for compensation of insufficiency of welding passes thickness at vertical welding position upon adoption of downweld process.

cover pass
a term which indicates that the bead formed at the outermost pass.
2.0.12
repair welding
a term which indicates that the repair welding conducted for the out-of-limit defect discovered by outlook appearance inspection or non-destructive test.

tie-in
a term which indicates that the operation by which the crater of two neighboring fixed pipe sections is connected by a pipe or a short section.
2.0.14
interpass temperature
a term which indicates that the instantaneous temperature prior to welding of the next bead of multipass welding and neighboring parent materials.
2.0.15
100m post
a term which indicates that post point provided every 100m of straight line section of the line.
2.0.16
wall thickness change pile
a term which indicates that marker pile at the demarcation point where steel pipe wall thickness changes.
2.0.17
vertical slope change pile
a term which indicates that marker pile point provided at the position with longitudinal corner of more than 2°.
2.0.18
curve control point pile
when flexible bending and cold bending are adopted for treatment of horizontal or vertical corner, the stake point shall be provided at the starting point, midpoint and finishing point of curve as well as 5m-10m position in the middle of curve section.
2.0.19
crossing marker pile
a term which indicates that pile point provided at the position where various pipelines cross starting and end point.
3 Basic Requirement
3.0.1 Construction contractor undertaking the slurry pipeline work shall perform project within the scope as permitted by qualification grade.Inspection unit shall have corresponding qualification grade for pipeline work inspection.Construction personnel shall have corresponding qualifications.
3.0.2 Slurry pipeline engineering construction shall be in accordance with design drawings.In case of alteration of design or material, design alteration shall be issued by original design company.
3.0.3 Prior to construction of slurry pipeline, the following requirements shall be met:
1 Engineering design drawings and relevant technical documents shall be complete.Design clarification and drawing joint review shall be conducted according to stipulated procedures.Investigation along the line shall be conducted according to the documents of underground pipeline and structures(buildings) within the construction boundary, geotechnical and hydrological engineering documents provided by owner.
2 Construction organization scheme and construction proposal shall have been approved.Technical and safety clarification shall have been completed.Self-review, joint review and licensing system shall be executed.In case of alteration, alteration approval procedures shall be fulfilled.
3 Construction personnel shall be certificated and gain the operation permit after examination.
4 Project commencement documents shall be issued.
5 Machinery and tool used for pipeline construction shall be safe and reliable and inspection &maintenance shall be conducted prior to commencement.Lifting equipment shall not be used for any lifting activities before supervised and inspected to be qualified.The spare power and equipment shall be provided.
6 Metering appliances shall be calibrated to be qualified and shall be within the term of validity period.
7 Corresponding occupational health, safety, and environmental protection plan shall have been formulated.
3.0.4 Clarification shall be conducted after completion of design clarification and drawing joint review, including the following contents:
1 Construction organization scheme and technical measures of construction.
2 Quality requirements and key control points of construction.
3 Safety and occupational health of construction.
4 New equipment, new process, new material and new technology.
3.0.5 For slurry pipeline section laying parallel with power transmission and telecommunications line, road, railway, and pipeline used for other purposes, the following provisions shall be abided by unless otherwise clearly clarified in design:
1 For pipeline section laying parallel with overhead HV power transmission line, their net spacing shall not be less than the height of electric pole and the existing state standards shall be abided by.
2 2 For pipeline section laying parallel with buried communications cable, their minimum net horizontal spacing shall not be less than 10m.The buried communications cable serving this project, simultaneous construction with the pipeline, their net spacing shall not be limited by it, but maintenance requirements shall be satisfied.
3 For pipeline section laying parallel with railway and their net spacing shall not be less than 14m.
4 For pipeline section laying parallel with grade I and II road, their net spacing shall not be less than 10m.For the partial pipeline section restricted and parallel with road, after strengthening protection measures for road are considered and the scheme have been approved, it can be buried within road land boundary but beyond the road shoulder.
5 For pipeline section laying parallel with other pipelines, their minimum net spacing shall not be less than 10m.For restricted conditions and laying needed to be within 10m, protection measures shall be strengthened.
