本标准规定了燃气轮机组转轴径向振动的测量和评定准则。本标准适用于具有滑动轴承、输出功率大于3MW、转轴速度从3000r/min到30000r/min的所有燃气轮机组(包括带有齿轮箱的燃气轮机组)。本标准不适用于航空发动机用燃气轮机，因为它与工业用燃气轮机的主要区别在于轴承的型式(滚柱轴承)、转子和支撑结构的刚度和质量比都不相同。
