GB/T 13004-2016 Periodic inspection and evaluation of seamless steel gas cylinders
1 Scope
This standard specifies the basic methods and technical requirements for periodic inspection and evaluation of seamless steel gas cylinders in use (hereinafter referred to as gas cylinders).
This standard is applicable to the periodic inspection and evaluation of refillable seamless steel gas cylinders with a nominal working pressure of not more than 30 MPa and a nominal volume of 0.4 L ~ 150 L, which are used to contain compressed gas, high-pressure liquefied gas, or mixed gases.
It is not applicable to gas cylinders filled with packing, gas cylinders for fire extinguishing, and gas cylinder pressure vessels attached to means of transport, machinery and equipment
Note: Periodic inspection may be carried out for gas cylinders with a nominal volume less than 0.4 L with reference to this standard.

3 Inspection body, inspection period and inspection items
3.1 Inspection body
Inspection bodies conducting gas cylinder inspection shall comply with the requirements of GB 12135 and be approved by the national special equipment safety supervision and management department in accordance with TSG Z7001.
3.2 Inspection period
Gas cylinders used to contain nitrogen, hexafluoroethane, inert gas and non-corrosive high-purity gas with a purity greater than or equal to 99.999% shall be inspected every five (5) years; gas cylinders used to contain gases that can corrode the gas cylinder material, submersible gas cylinders, and gas cylinders that are often in contact with seawater shall be inspected every two (2) years; gas cylinders used to contain other gases are inspected every three (3) years. The inspection cycle for gas cylinders used to contain mixed gases shall be determined according to the gas with the shortest inspection cycle among the mixed gases.
If any gas cylinder is found to be seriously corroded or damaged during use, or there is any doubt about its safety and reliability, it shall be inspected in advance.
