1 Scope
This document specifies the classification, basic parameters, requirements, inspection rules, marking, packaging, accompanied documents, transportation and storage for marine auxiliary boilers (hereinafter referred to as "boilers"), and describes the corresponding test methods.
This document applies to the design, manufacturing, and acceptance testing of natural circulation steam boilers with design pressure not exceeding 2.5 MPa and water as working medium, as well as hot water boilers with water as the medium and an outlet temperature not exceeding 120°C.

Small Type Auxiliary Boiler
A steam boiler with evaporation capacity not exceeding 1 t/h and design pressure not exceeding 0.78 MPa, or a hot water boiler with thermal power not exceeding 0.7 MW.

4.1 Classification
4.1.1 Boilers are classified by medium as follows:
a) Steam boiler
b) Hot water boiler
4.1.2 Boilers are classified by installation type as follows:
a) Vertical boiler
b) Horizontal boiler
4.1.3 Boilers are classified by energy source type as follows:
a) Oil-fired boiler
b) Exhaust gas boiler
c) Electric heating boiler
d) Oil-exhaust gas composite boiler
e) Oil-electric composite boiler
f) Exhaust gas-electric composite boiler
4.1.4 Boilers are classified according to the circulation of medium inside or outside heat transfer tubes as follows:
a) Water tube boiler
b) Smoke tube boiler
c) Combined smoke-water tube boiler
4.1.5 Boilers are classified by structure as follows:
a) Vertical straight water tube boiler
b) Vertical cross water tube boiler
c) Vertical vertical smoke tube boiler
