Safety of child care articles - Wheeled child conveyances
1 Scope
This document specifies the safety requirements for wheeled child conveyances, and describes the corresponding test methods.
This document is applicable to two types of wheeled child conveyances for one or more children, with a single weight of 15kg or less, or 15kg or more but up to 22kg. It also covers the integrated platform for children with a maximum weight of 20kg to stand.
This document is not applicable to toy pushchairs, sports pushchairs, motor-driven pushchairs or pushchairs designed for other special purposes.

3 Terms and definitions
For the purposes of this document, the following terms and definitions apply.
3.1
wheeled child conveyance
vehicle designed for the transportation of one or more children that can be manually steered while being pulled or pushed, composing one or more pram bodies, seat units or car seats for children or their combinations connected to the chassis
3.2
pram body
structure with essentially vertical and continuous sides that ends with an internal base designed to transport one or more children in a primarily horizontal position
3.3
seat unit
structure with backrest fixed or adjustable to achieve a reclining, lying flat position, designed to support one or more children
3.4
chassis
wheeled framework with one or more handles for pushing or pulling
Note: It is designed to assemble one or more of the pram body, seat unit, car seat for children, or their combination.
3.5
pram
vehicle designed to carry lying child
Note: It comprises a chassis and one or more pram bodies.
3.6
pushchair
vehicle designed to carry sitting child
Note: It comprises a chassis and one or more seat units or car seats for children.

1 Scope
This document specifies the safety requirements for wheeled child conveyances, and describes the corresponding test methods.
