本标准规定了用高速钢、硬质合金和陶瓷单刃车削刀具车削钢和铸铁的寿命试验的推荐程序。试验时涉及下列各因素的规范:工件、刀具、切削液、切削条件、设备、刀具失效和刀具寿命的评定、试验步骤以及结果的记录、评估和报告。本标准未规定验收试验。
在车削试验中,使用下列两种类型来考虑切削条件:
a) 主要由于磨损而失效的条件,它是本标准主要考虑的条件;
b) 由于其他现象,如切削刃破裂或塑性变形而失效的条件,这个条件还需进一步研究。
本标准适用于实验室和生产实际中单刃车削刀具的寿命试验,参见附录 A。
