Determination of antistatic performance for fabric conditioners
1 Scope
This standard specifies the method for determining the performance of fabric conditioners in eliminating fabric static electricity.
This standard is applicable to evaluating the performance of fabric conditioners and antistatic agent in eliminating fabric static electricity.
2 Definitions
For the purposes of this document, the following definitions apply.
2.1
fabric electrostatic
condition where after some external action (such as friction), relatively stable charges are accumulated on the fabric
2.2
the fabric surface resistance
Rs
resistance encountered when current passes through fabric surface
2.3
the fabric surface resistance coefficient
ρs
surface resistance of the fabric, when the two electrodes are placed on the fabric surface with both length and spacing of unit length (cm), which is also called the surface resistance factor
2.4
antistatic agent
product used to treat fabrics and capable of eliminating static electricity from fabrics
2.5
fabric conditioners
general term for products with antistatic and softening functions, usually products containing cationic surfactants
3 Principle
The fabric electrostatic effect depends not only on the amount of static electricity generated by it, but also on the ability of
