本标准于１９９９年１１月首次发布。本标准规定了采用装有玻璃和银参比电极的pH计进行天然胶乳pH值测定的方法。本标准也适用于预硫化胶乳或配合胶乳pH值的测定。本标准根据ＩＳＯ９７６：１９９６及其修改单ＩＳＯ９７６／Ａｍｄ．１：２００６重新起草本标准与ＧＢ／Ｔ１８０１２—１９９９相比，主要差异如下：
———增加第８章：精密度说明；
———原第８章改为第９章；
———删去附录Ａ：试验方法的精密度。
