1 Scope

4.1 The seamless steel pipes in this document are classified into two types according to the product manufacturing process, with their categories and designations as follows:
a) Hotrolled (extruded, expanded) steel pipes, designated WH;
b) Colddrawn (rolled) steel pipes, designated WC.
4.2 The letters “DG” after the steel grade designation in this document are the initials of the Chinese Pinyin for “low temperature” and “pipeline”.
5 Ordering Information
A contract or order for pipes according to this document shall include, but not be limited to, the following:

6 Manufacturing Process
6.1 Steelmaking process
The steel shall be melted by an electric arc furnace plus secondary refining and vacuum refining treatment, or by an oxygen converter plus secondary refining and vacuum refining treatment. Other steelmaking processes with higher requirements may be used subject to agreement between the supplier and the purchaser and specified in the contract.
6.2 Manufacturing method of tube billet
The tube billet may be manufactured by continuous casting, ingot casting or hotrolling (forging).
