This Standard specifies the determination method for fecal coliform in fertilizers.
2 Definition
For the purposes of this standard, the following definitions apply.
Fecal coliforms
It refers to the aerobic and facultative anaerobic rod-shaped Gram-negative non-spore forming bacteria which can ferment lactose with the production of acid and gas when incubated at 44.5 ℃±0.5℃.
Fecal coliform quantity is the most probable number (MPN) of fecal coliform in per gram (ml) fertilizer sample.
