本标准规定了用凝胶渗透色谱法(GPC)1)测定溶解于THF(四氢呋喃)中的聚合物的分子量分布、数均分子量Mn 和重均分子量Mw 的方法。
即使用本方法能获得良好的重复性,本方法也不能用于发生了特殊的相互作用的某些聚合物,例如在样品/洗脱剂/色谱柱体系间发生了吸附作用。
本方法不是一种绝对的测定方法,需要用市售的无支链聚苯乙烯标准物质进行标定,而这种标准物质已用绝对方法测得其分子量。因此除聚苯乙烯外,聚合物样品的测定结果仅用于相同类型样品组间的比较。
本标准规定的条件不适用于用GPC分析Mw 数值大于106 的聚合物样品(见附录C)。
本标准无修正方法,例如消除峰加宽。如果要得到绝对分子量数值,需要使用绝对方法测量,例如用膜渗透法测定Mn 或光散射法测定Mw 。
