1 Scope
This document defines the terms for washed garments, specifies the requirements, inspection rules, marking, packaging, transportation and storage, and describes the corresponding test methods.
This document is applicable to garments produced by washing processes, with woven fabrics as the main material.
This document is not applicable to denim garments and garments for infants and young children aged 36 months and below.

3 Terms and definitions
For the purposes of this document, the terms and definitions given in GB/T 15557, as well as the following, apply.
3.1
washed garments
Garments that have been finished by one or a combination of washing processes such as stone washing, sand washing, enzyme washing, bleach washing, snow washing, salt washing, etc., applied to the finished product, semi-finished product or the fabric used.
Note 1: Descriptions of common washing methods are given in Annex A.
Note 2: Generally, after the garment is sewn and then subjected to washing processes, a slight or more obvious fishbone pattern appears between double stitches or on both sides of single stitches.
4 Requirements
4.1 Instructions for use
Instructions for use shall comply with GB/T 5296.4. Products for children aged over 3 years to 14 years shall also comply with GB 31701. For cases involving special abrasion or locally destructive washing processes, such information should preferably be indicated in the instructions for use.
4.2 Size designation and specifications
4.2.1 Size designation shall be in accordance with GB/T 1335 (all parts).
4.2.2 Main body specifications shall be designed in accordance with GB/T 1335 (all parts) and GB/T 2668.
4.3 Raw materials
Outer shell and lining materials shall comply with the relevant requirements of this document. Fillings shall comply with relevant laws, regulations, mandatory standards and related documents. Linings, accessories and other materials used shall be compatible with the outer fabric. Buttons, decorative buttons, zippers and other accessories shall have smooth surfaces, be free from burrs, defects and blemishes, and shall have no accessible sharp points or sharp edges. Zippers shall mesh well and operate smoothly.
4.4 Warp and weft orientation
4.4.1 The skewness of yarns in collars, main body and sleeves shall not exceed 3 %, except for special designs. The front bottom hem shall not be turned up.
4.4.2 The lateral yarn skewness of trousers and skirts shall not exceed 3 %, and the longitudinal yarn skewness of trousers and skirts shall not exceed 1.5 %.
4.5 Stripe and check matching
4.5.1 For fabrics with obvious stripes or checks of 1.0 cm or wider, the requirements of Table 1 shall be met, except for special designs.
4.5.2 For fabrics with obvious stripes or checks wider than 0.5 cm but less than 1.0 cm, the stripes or checks on pockets and the front body shall match, with a mutual difference not exceeding 0.2 cm.
4.5.3 The skewness of stripe/check patterns shall not exceed 3 %.
4.5.4 For fabrics with directional nap, pile or yin-yang checks, all parts of the garment shall be in the same direction, except for special designs.
4.5.5 For fabrics with special patterns, the main motif shall be oriented consistently throughout the garment.
4.6 Appearance defects
The permissible severity of defects on finished products shall comply with Table 2. The division of finished product parts is shown in Figure 1. Each part shall have no more than one defect within the permissible range. For defects not listed in Table 2, refer to similar defects in Table 2 according to their morphology. Special designs or decorations are excluded.
4.7 Sewing quality
4.7.1 Stitch density shall comply with Table 3, except for special designs.
4.7.2 All stitching shall be smooth, straight, neat and firm, with uniform stitch length. Upper and lower threads shall be appropriately tensioned, with no skipped stitches or broken threads. Start and end stitches and pocket openings shall be backstitched, and exposed topstitching shall be of uniform width.
4.7.3 Exposed seam allowances shall be overlocked or heat-cut. Seam allowances shall be not less than 0.8 cm, except for special parts such as pocket openings, collar roll lines and front edge roll lines.
4.7.4 Skipped stitches shall not occur in collars and front plackets. For other parts, there shall be no continuous skipped stitches within 30.0 cm, nor more than one single skipped stitch. Chain stitches shall not skip.
4.7.5 Darts shall be straight, smooth and of consistent length and position. Tucks (including tuck lines) shall be uniform, and pleated surfaces shall be uniform in width and symmetrical.
4.7.6 Collars shall be smooth and not turned up, and topstitching on collars shall have no joins. The collar stand shall be smooth and wrinkle-free. Collar points shall be of equal length and lapel widths uniform. The collar face and lining tension shall be appropriate, and collar setting (collar-to-shoulder seam) shall not be skewed.
4.7.7 Shoulder seams shall be straight and smooth, and shoulders shall be of equal width.
4.7.8 Sleeves shall be set in smoothly, with consistent front and back sleeve appearance. Sleeve seams shall be straight, and sleeve lengths and cuff sizes shall be consistent.
4.7.9 Pockets and pocket flaps shall be square, smooth and appropriately sized. Pocket flaps shall be of consistent length and width. Pockets shall be smooth and straight, with neat pocket corners.
4.7.10 Front fly and facing shall be of appropriate length, with no turned-out edges. The front placket shall be straight and smooth. Zipper tapes at the front placket shall be smooth and straight, and symmetrical parts of the front placket shall be aligned.
4.7.11 Buttonholes shall be accurately positioned, matching the size of the buttons, neat and firm. Buttonholes shall not be skewed, and buttonhole stitching shall be neat and smooth.
4.7.12 Buttons shall be securely attached with no exposed knots. Buttons shall not be attached to a single layer of fabric (except for decorative buttons). The shank height shall be appropriate for the buttonhole position, with 3 or more wraps (decorative buttons are not wrapped), and the thread knot shall be firm and complete.
4.7.13 Buttons and buttonholes shall be properly aligned. Snap fasteners shall be securely attached, properly aligned, with appropriate engagement and no deformation or excessive tightness.
4.7.14 Zippers shall be set smoothly with consistent exposed teeth. Zippers shall have no missing teeth, and the zipper puller shall be securely attached.
4.7.15 Waistbands shall be smooth, straight and of consistent width, with no turned-out edges. Elastic waistbands shall have uniform tension. The removable lining shall be overlocked.
4.7.16 Trouser legs shall be of equal length, and cuff sizes shall be consistent.

3 Terms and definitions

3.1

4 Requirements

4.3 Raw materials
