1 Scope
This document specifies the determination methods for fiber saturation value (SF), dye saturation value (SD), and saturation factor (f) of cationic dyes in acrylic fiber dyeing.
This document applies to the determination of SF, SD, and f for cationic dyes in acrylic fiber dyeing.
2 Normative References

Terms and definitions defined in GB/T 6687 apply to this document.
4 Principle
A precisely prepared cationic fluorescent yellow 4GL (C.I. Basic Yellow 24) with a known saturation factor (f) is used to dye acrylic fibers of unknown fiber saturation value (SF) at varying concentrations. The saturation limit is defined as the point where the fiber's dye exhaustion rate reaches 95%, and SF is calculated using the formula.
For dye determination, fibers with a known SF value are dyed with the target dye. The saturation limit (95% exhaustion) is used to calculate the dye's saturation value (SD) and saturation factor (f).
