This standard specifies the technical requirements and test methods for the protection of motor vehicle for pedestrians in the event of a collision. This standard is applicable to M1 type motor vehicle with its designed maximum total mass larger than 500kg. M2 type with its designed maximum total mass larger than 500kg and not larger than 4,500kg and N type with its designed maximum total mass larger than 500kg and not larger than 4,500kg may refer to perform. However, M2 type and N type motor vehicles with their transverse plane horizontal distances from the driver's seat point R to the front axis center less than 1,000mm are excluded.
