GB/T 247-2025 General rules of package, mark and certification for steel plate, sheet and strip 1 Scope This document specifies the general technical requirements for the package, mark, transportation, storage and certification for steel plate, sheet and strip. This document is applicable to the package, mark, transportation, storage and certification of hot-rolled, cold-rolled, electrical steel, coated and plated steel plates, sheets and strips. 2 Normative references The following normative documents contain provisions which, through reference in this text, constitute provisions of this standard. For dated references, only the edition cited applies. For undated references, the latest edition of the referenced document (including any amendments) applies. GB/T 18253 Steel and steel products - Types of inspection documents 3 Terms and definitions For the purposes of this document, the following terms and definitions apply. 3.1 package wrapping or bundling one or more products into a unit of goods 3.2 label paper strips or other material products fixed on packaging items (steel plates, sheets or strips), marked with product name, specification, manufacturer and other information 3.3 mark any method used to identify product information Example: Inkjet printing, printing, label fixing, etc. 3.4 tap a movable label fixed to the packaging items with steel wire, U-shaped nails, etc. 3.5 bundle direction 3.5.1 transverse direction perpendicular to the rolling direction of the steel plate or sheet 3.5.2 longitudinal direction parallel to the rolling direction of the steel plate or sheet 3.5.3 circle direction circumferential direction of the steel strip 3.5.4 eye direction direction of the central axis of the steel strip 3.6 gross weight sum of the weight of the product itself and the weight of all packaging materials 3.7 net weight weight of the product itself 3.8 theoretical weight weight calculated based on the nominal dimension and density of the steel 4 Package 4.1 General requirements 4.1.1 Steel plates, sheets and strips shall be neatly packaged and securely bundled. The mark shall be firm and the handwriting clear. The package shall ensure that the product does not become loose, deformed or damaged during normal transportation and storage. 4.1.2 The packaging requirements for steel plates, sheets and strips shall be as specified in the corresponding product standards. When there are no specific packaging requirements in the corresponding product standards, the requirements shall be specified in the contract. If not specified, the supplier shall make the selection. The purchaser should inform the supplier of the requirements for packaging materials and provide the unloading method and relevant equipment information. 4.1.3 If the purchaser has any special requirements regarding packaging materials, packaging types (methods), bundle weights, etc., they shall be negotiated at the time of placing an order and specified in the contract.
